About Wrongfully Fired LA

Wrongfully Fired LA publishes plain-English guides to California workplace rights for people who work in greater Los Angeles. It is run by Wrongfully Fired LA.

What this site is

  • Short guides to termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leave, accommodation, and pay under California law.
  • A two-minute checker that shows which California protections may apply, based on a few answers. It runs in your browser.
  • A list of the official agencies where California workers can file complaints.

What this site is not

  • It is not a law firm, and it does not give legal advice.
  • No lawyer has reviewed this content.
  • Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone. Only a lawyer who reviews your facts can tell you how the law applies to you.

How the guides are written

Each guide is written from California statutes and official agency guidance, such as the Civil Rights Department, the Department of Industrial Relations, Cal/OSHA, the EDD, and the U.S. EEOC.

Every guide lists its sources and shows a "Last reviewed" date. Specific numbers, deadlines, and employer size rules link to the official page they came from.

The guides do not describe outcomes, settlement amounts, or win rates, and they do not tell anyone that they have a claim.
